Vincent D'Onofrio, Honouring Hero's

"V" IS FOR VINCENT…Vincent D’Onofrio, that is. Heroes come in all shapes and sizes. We encounter them every single day, whether or not we recognize them as such. The true heroes do not do what they do for fame, glory, awards, rewards, or even thanks. They do it because that’s who they are. True heroism is a generosity of spirit that is innate—a purity of heart and bravery in the face of fears of all kinds. Heroes watch over us, rescue us, eliminate dangers around us, and give us comfort in the dark times. There are heroes who teach our children, heal our sick, build our roads, and care for our environment. And Vincent understands all this. This man with a talent as brilliant as the sun chooses to donate much of his time and energy to give back to those who give so much of themselves. He teaches acting seminars to those who hunger for his knowledge about the subject, and he works tirelessly for all the causes he believes in. He is the Spokesperson for the National Law Enforcement Museum, which honors law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty and informs the public about the dangers that our police face every day. (www.nleomf.org) In his work with the Heroes Health Project and the Meth Cops Project, he has sacrificed much of his personal privacy to be the public face of their humble request to receive better health care. He will be assisting with the Ride for a Hero near Salt Lake City May 17-19 to raise money for the Utah Meth Cops to help pay for their detox program. This is “the only project in the world helping ailing police officers, who have been exposed to toxic meth labs, regain their quality of life. They put their lives on the line to make their community safer and they are paying the price with their own health.” And the Utah Meth Cops Project is all about reversing that. (www.utah-detox.org - a non-profit organization) I’m not sure how many of us would have the courage to give so much, but the most admirable Vincent has chosen to stand with these heroes. And those who assist our many heroes are heroes in their own right. May he—and they—be dearly blessed and receive all the appreciation and support they so richly deserve.

I've borrowed this post from a fellow fan, Ruby, because she had written it so beautifully and I wanted to share it with you.
